GerIta: Your Song

Ludwig sighed softly as he waited for his beloved Feliciano to return home. Even though the Italian had only gone to the store to buy things to make for dinner that night, his German boyfriend was still worried and anxiously awaited his return. But, he was anxious another reason, other than being worried about his boyfriend and what he may be doing at the moment.  He was anxious because he had wrote a song for him. He had been practicing it for the past couple weeks and for three weeks before that, writing it. Of course, this was all done while the Italian wasn’t home. He just had to think of a way to bring it up. So that he could show him. He hoped Feliciano would like it, he really did. He also had a surprise for Feliciano afterwards.

Soon enough the Italian returned home with a few bags of groceries in hand. Ludwig stood from his seat on the couch and moved to help him with the bags. Feliciano smiled in appreciation, letting his boyfriend take the bags after giving the German a small peck on the cheek. “Grazie, Luddy.”, Feliciano giggled. Ludwig blushed lightly. “N-No problem, Feli.” Ludwig moved to the kitchen in their apartment and set the bags on the counter. Feliciano smiled softly, watching as his German lover took everything out of the bags and put away what wasn’t needed.

Feliciano, once Ludwig was done, moved further into the kitchen and began to prepare dinner. Together, the two prepared dinner. Ludwig set the table while Feliciano put the food onto two plates. Feliciano came into the dining area and set the plates on the table as Ludwig finished setting the table. After he finished, Ludwig moved into the kitchen and brought out one of Feliciano's favorite wine and two wine glasses. He took the glasses and set them in their respective places before pouring wine into each one, then set the wine bottle down on the table.

Ludwig walked around the table and pulled out the chair for his Italian lover. Feliciano let out a small giggle before sitting in his seat. “Grazie, Luddy.” Ludwig blushed lightly at the nickname. “You’re welcome, Feli.”, he replied before going to his seat. Ludwig pulled out his chair and sat.

Together, the two ate their dinner and drank their wine, making idle conversation. It was mainly simple things. How their day was at work, things like that.

Once their dinner was finished Ludwig took the dishes, and moved them to the sink, where he washed them. After washing the dishes, he set them to dry, and went to the living room to join his boyfriend on the couch.

The couple cuddled for a little while, watching tv. When Ludwig finally spoke, he said, “Feliciano, I-I actually have a surprise for you.”, he said, rising from his seat. He moved to their shared bedroom, leaving behind a confused but excited Italian. Ludwig returned to the living room, carrying his acoustic guitar. He sat back down on the couch and began playing his guitar. He sang:

At the end of the song, Ludwig set his guitar to the side, not looking at his boyfriend. Feliciano sat silent for a moment, eyes wide. Suddenly, the German was hugged by his lover he was crying softly with joy. “It was beautiful Ludwig. I love it.” Ludwig smiled, wrapping his arms around his Italian and hugging him close.

After a while, the two broke their embrace. “I-I also have something else for you, Feliciano.” The Italian tilted is head curiously. “What is it?”

Ludwig stood and got down on one knee, pulling out a small box and opening it, revealing a ring. “Feliciano Vargas, we’ve been together for six years now, and I love you more than anything. I would give anything to be able to spend my life with you. To have you by my side forever. So, will you, Feliciano Vargas, marry me?”

Feliciano’s eyes widened in surprise, tears of happiness welling up in his eyes. Nodding, Feliciano answered. “Y-Yes.”, he squeaked out. “Y-yes!” The Italian hugged onto Ludwig tightly and Ludwig slipped the ring onto Feliciano’s finger. Ludwig pulled Feliciano into a passionate kiss.

That night, they celebrated their engagement by making sweet love to each other. And never once, did either of them regret their decision on getting engaged.
